Education

Digitalization of schools

Information Technology has greatly influenced the learning process and AESL believes it can contribute towards the transformation in education sector with technology as an enabler. In this regard, it is working on digitalization of primary and secondary schools, providing e-learning infrastructure such as computers and projectors at Dahanu. The e-learning kits are installed in the schools with objective of engaging students more productively with personalized learning and also bridging urban-rural divide. Around 1200 students from 8 primary schools have benefited from this initiative.

Establishment of STEM Laboratory

Establishment of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) lab at Mahendragarh, Alwar, Sami, Akola, Koradi and Rajnandgaon. These labs covered a total of 12 Schoolsand benefitted 889 Students.

Health

Just Walk/Run to Donate Mobile app

Adani Energy Solutions Limited collaborated with IIT Bombay to sponsor walks during FY 19-20 through a mobile app, Impact: Fitness & Charity. Just Walk/Run to Donate. It is a simple, yet efficient, walking distance tracker and step counter offline app that enables a person to measure his/her walk, jog, run, and calories, while contributing to the community. It is a user-friendly app on the concept of charity with each step. Every mile that is walked or run for fitness funds a non-profit agency to drive its on-ground projects in charity.


Community Infrastructure

Installation of drinking water filtration units

The Company has installed industrial drinking water filtration plant and RO systems as per requirement in the villages and schools around our operating locations. This has facilitated access to potable drinking water for more than 5,500 people, which would earlier involve a daily commute of 3 to 4 kms.

Promoting the use of solar lamps in rural India

Working in collaboration with IIT Bombay, the project covered several areas including Mahendragarh, Sami, Morena, Birantiya Kalan and Pali across 4 states of India. The Company distributed 1,327 solar lamps to promote the use of green energy in the society and also trained students on solar circuits. It also inspired students to promote the use of solar energy among their family members.

Sustainable Livelihood

Integrated Tribal Development Project

Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd, a subsidiary of Adani Energy Solutions Ltd, in association with NABARD, initiated a programme, Integrated Tribal Development Project, in select villages of Dahanu Block, near Mumbai. This project facilitates the economic upliftment of 1,000 land-owning tribal families over 7 years by developing 1 acre ‘wadi’. The programme also benefits at least 100 landless families with livelihood support by provisioning carpentry, aata-chakki, saloon, sewing machines, goat-farming, among others.

Skill Development

The Adani Skill Development Centre in Mumbai imparts training for youth to work in IT, healthcare, apparel, beauty and wellness as well as construction sectors. The initiative also lays a special focus to train marginalised groups such as widows and differently-abled people.

Make India Capable

Adani Energy Solutions Limited joined hands with an NGO Head Held High for Make India Capable (MIC) initiative in Pali, Rajsathan. MIC is an initiative that transforms villagers with no education into capable workers. All the women part of this program belonged to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) and are predominantly engaged in tailoring and bangle making.


Safety + Swachhagraha

AESL through Adani Foundation is striving to create a culture of cleanliness across 19 states, by promoting personal hygiene and sanitation. With a team of more than 1,00,000 Swachhagrahis, this initiative reaches 26,50,000 students every month. Through students and teachers from more than 5,500 schools, the movement has reached over 12,50,00,000 people. Recently, the Adani Foundation and Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited (AEML), with support from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), launched the ‘Safety + Swachhagraha’ in 2,269 schools in Mumbai. The programme focuses on four key themes — waste management and littering, sanitation, personal hygiene and toilet etiquettes.

Women Empowerment

Meri SangiIn association with Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited (AEML), the Adani Foundation launched a new project — Meri Sangini, Meri Margdarshika. The project aims to encourage and nurture women leaders from within the community, who then become change makers in their surroundings. Meri Sangini, Meri Margdarshika is being implemented on a pilot basis in partnership with Haqdarshak in Tilak Nagar and Aarey Colony in Mumbai. As a Sangini, the community volunteer is given knowledge and skills through trainings to act as a peer counsellor and advisor. Sanginis work on social issues like domestic violence, while acting as a bridge to connect the people with the government agencies and schemes.
